Back to School Letter and Supply Lists 2022-23

Dear Arbor Families,

We hope you are enjoying the summer and looking forward to the year ahead!

The first day of school is Thursday, September 8th. School hours are 8:30am-2:50pm, Monday through Friday.

Although this may change, every student must have a completed Health Screening before lineup. This should be completed at home each morning before school. You can present your child’s completed screening at arrival on your device or print it out. Visit: https://healthscreening.schools.nyc

PreK/Kindergarteners:

-Families will line up each morning on South 3rd Street by the garden gates at 8:20am. Please form an orderly line.

-After the health screening is checked, students will line up in the designated area in the garden until their teachers arrive.

-Families will pick up on South 3rd Street by the garden gates between 2:40-2:50pm daily.

First through Fifth Graders:

-Families will line up on Keap Street between 8:15-8:30am daily. Please form an orderly line.

-After the health screening is checked, students will line up in the designated area in the schoolyard until their teachers arrive.

-Families will be permitted to enter the school yard between 2:40-2:50pm for dismissal.

School breakfast is offered at the beginning of each day free of charge.  Please note children may not bring breakfast from home.  Students can bring a packed lunch or eat school lunch, which is also free of charge.

At the start of each school year, you will be asked to return a Family Income Inquiry Form. Everyone needs to submit a new form even if you have submitted one last year.  This critical form is tied to school funding and we need full participation. Please fill out the form that comes home in backpack mail, or go to www.myschoolapps.com/application to fill out electronically.

All students should be dressed in school clothes each and every day. Brooklyn Arbor tops will be on sale through our Parent Association. Gently used uniforms that have been donated by families will be available in September.  In addition, you can go to www.landsend.com  for clothing with a printed logo.  However, you can also purchase dark green or white polo shirts (short or long sleeve) and khaki bottoms (shorts, skirts, pants, etc.) through any other vendor of your choice.

Finally, it is critical that every family activate their Operoo account. Class placement letters, supply lists, and Community Letters will be sent out via this platform. If you need any assistance, please contact Maria Molina at parents@brooklynarbor.org

If you have any questions, we can be reached at admin@brooklynarbor.org. We look forward to seeing you and your child on September 8th!

Best,
